In the early 1990s, Advanced Towing & Automotive began as a small towing and vehicle repair facility in Vernal, Utah, with one employee and one small tow truck. As time went on, the size of the repair facility grew along with the employee count and amount of tow trucks in the fleet. In early 2017, the owners decided they were ready to retire and began looking for a buyer for the business. And that’s where the new chapter of Advanced Towing & Automotive begins. Mark and Noelle Showalter bought the shop, and we are excited to see where the future takes us.

“Having grown up in the car business and eventually managing a family dealership, I found myself at a crossroads on what I really wanted to do in life. I felt I was ready for a change that provided a more hands-on style of business, though I wasn't sure exactly what that was. Then, in early 2017, the opportunity to purchase Advanced Towing & Automotive became a possibility, which ultimately became a reality by August of 2017. My passion for automobiles and my fascination with heavy-duty trucks and wreckers gave me the push I needed to make this dream become a reality. I really enjoy not having the corporate structure that comes with working for an auto manufacturer and the freedom to provide customers with the products and services they truly need.

“My areas of expertise are performance and vehicle restoration. I wrench in my own garage every weekend on my own vehicles and, because I’m a Ford guy through and through, any project I have will be wearing the Blue Oval. I also like to do a little drag racing in the summer, when time allows. As a shop owner, I love meeting people and earning new customers and fleet accounts. I really enjoy the towing and recovery aspect of the business as well because no two tows are ever the same.
